Hundreds of AFGE members marched to Capitol Hill on Thursday to call on Congress to raise the debt ceiling while preserving social programs like Social Security and Medicare that millions of Americans depend on.

AFGE joined with activists from groups such as AFSCME, MoveOn.org, Rebuild the Dream and others to demand an immediate end to the congressional stalemate that has brought the country to the brink of economic catastrophe.

AFGE National Vice Presidents led a march from AFGE headquarters to the grounds of Capitol Hill, where National President John Gage delivered a rousing speech that energized the crowd.
